Choosing Roses for Valentine’s Day
January 8, 2010katss
Do you know how to pick the right rose for your Valentine? The Valentine’s roses are perhaps the most incomparable gifts that you can give to someone in that special day. These gifts are absolutely timeless and can melt almost any heart. The roses come on several colors and when it comes to love, you must know that different colors of roses signify different things. Here are some tips for choosing the perfect rose for your perfect Valentine.
You don’t want just “any rose”. The color of the rose that you select can decide on what your bouquet actually symbolizes and tells to your partner. Roses in general send a message of love and admiration. They are a time honored way of sending the message “I Love You”. Traditionally, the red roses are used to convey true, undying love, the perfect love. However, each rose-color conveys its own special meaning quietly. In fact, you would be surprised to know that the different shades of same colors of roses even convey different meanings. Here are some tips on the popular Valentine’s Day rose colors and their meanings:
Red Roses – They convey the essence of Valentines Day, as the red rose actually means romantic love. The red rose sends the strongest message when you want to say “I Love You”. People are mostly familiar with these kinds of roses. Getting red roses can be quite expensive, and so you need to shop around a bit particularly around the Valentine’s Day to get the right ones.
Pink Roses – The pink rose is often referred to as an expression of admiration, appreciation, and joyfulness. The meaning is a gentler gesture than the blazing love that the red rose conveys. The dark pink rose can send a message of gratitude and appreciation while the light pink rose sends a message of admiration and gentleness. Light pink roses are often used to send a message of sympathy as well.
Orange Roses – The orange or the coral roses symbolizes desire and it symbolizes something that is just a little lesser than red. The orange rose has become the perfect way to symbolize the heat of passion, burning desire and the flames of love. While red stands for intense attraction, strong desire, and urgent longing; the orange rose symbolize that your feelings are heading in that direction but hasn’t actually arrived.
Purple Roses – The purple color roses actually stands for the royal love, and the lighter shades of the Lavender Rose conveys thoughts of enchantment or perhaps that you actually fell in love at first sight with the recipient. Felt to be mystical…lavender roses make a glorious gift for your “love at first sight” Valentine.
Yellow Roses – The yellow rose is traditionally known as the rose of Friendship. The sunny yellow rose sends a message of joy to a treasured friend. Traditionally, yellow roses are not sent when you are sending a romantic message, but instead to a “true friend” conveying the message of sunshine, happiness, and joy.
White Roses – Throughout time, white roses have been known to signify purity and innocence. Though the meanings may have changed to a degree through time, the underlying meaning always refers to these two things. A white rose can send a message of a New Beginning, such as a marriage or a new romance. At one time, they actually were the symbol of “true love”, where now the red rose holds that place pretty much exclusively.
